Vodice

Vodice is a town that borders the Adriatic Sea and is located in Šibenik-Knin County, Croatia. This Croatian jewel will surely take your breath away with its pebbled and sandy beaches, it also offers ideal spots to collect numerous types of sea shells. With a population of approximately 9,000 people, peace and tranquility is almost guaranteed. Vodice native residents have always been farmers and evidence of this is clearly seen through large tracts of land throughout the Croatian town. All the same Vodice has established itself as a tourism hotspot and is widely recognized as one of the most famous tourist destinations in Central Adriatic.

This coastal town located in a wide bay has everything for anyone to enjoy themselves and relax. It is rich with cultural monuments which are a testament of its antiquity and tradition, this includes church of Our Lady of Carmel (Okit hill), Čorić Tower, the church of St. Cross, the parish church of St. Cross including the bell tower and the church of the St. Ilia the prophet just to name a few. With 2,600 hours of sunshine per year and a favorable Mediterranean climate it is ideal for swimming, volleyball, soccer, basketball, cycling, diving and fitness in the sea. In addition it is also possible to rent canoes and power boats to explore the surrounding islands. All year round it is never boring in this Croatian town with several festivals lined up like the Croatian Music Channel which takes place in June and it offers a chance for local talents to portray and appreciate their music. There is also the popular traditional folk festival, Vodička feast, which takes place on august 4th every year and is one of the most beloved festival in Dalmatia. There are loads of fun activies to do at sea such as wind and kite surfing, scuba divinng, kayaking and canoeing not forgetting snorkeling. There are several ways to reach Vodice with driving being an option or using the local ferries. The nearest airport is Spit airport which is approximately 85kilometers away.
