Senj

Senj is a small town in Croatia, on the Adriatic Sea. Out of the mass tourism itineraries, it is much less known than other cities like Zadar, Split or Dubrovnik, on the Dalmatian Coast but it is still worth a visit. Senj is a good place to travel back to Croatia's history as it is known as an important region for the Roman empire because is close to the sea and the mainland, has a great port, good roads, a mountain and the sea.

The Fortress was built in the 16th century and is a good start for exploring Senj. You will learn a little about the history of the city (which is over 3000 years old ...) and Croatia. Also, there is a museum with a collection of weapons and swords. The visit is very interesting, but what makes it even more special is the view of the city, framed by the "windows" of the fortress!
